Islamic Iran firmly resisting foreign pressure

Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi says the Iranian nation has successfully stood up to relentless external pressures by Western hegemonic powers.

“The bullying powers have for years imposed sanctions against the Iranian nation, but such embargoes prompted the Iranians to rely on their own capabilities and climb the ladder [of success],” the vice president said at the seventh meeting of Iran-Vietnam Joint Economic and Trade Commission on Saturday in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

“Despite the schemes by the hegemonic powers, Iran has managed to achieve the expertise and the state-of-the-art technology,” he added.

Rahimi pointed out that the era of the supremacy of bullying powers has “expired,” and the time has come for independent nations to “flourish.”

The Great Satan US, the zionist israeli regime and their allies have accused Iran of pursuing a military nuclear program and have used the false allegation as a pretext to push the UN Security Council to impose four rounds of sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

The US and the EU have also adopted unilateral measures against the Islamic Republic in an attempt to deter Western investments in Iran’s energy sector.

Iran has refuted the allegations, arguing that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has the right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

Rahimi made reference to the amicable ties between Iran and Vietnam and called for acceleration of mutual cooperation in an attempt to bolster bilateral commercial and economic interactions.

Vietnam’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat, for his part, pointed to the positive impacts of Tehran-Hanoi interactions in the enhancement of mutual economic ties and expressed optimism that the joint trade commission will help fulfill the interests of both nations.
