Islamic Iran President Confident about Victory of Islamic Awakening in Region

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad expressed confidence about the final victory of the Islamic awakening which is currently sweeping the Middle-East and North Africa.
“The enemies of humanity cannot stand up to the willpower of truth-seekers and the Islamic Awakening of nations, which has picked up pace today,” President Ahmadinejad said, addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 19th international exhibition of the Holy Quran here in Tehran on Thursday evening.
In recent months, a wave of revolutions and anti-government uprisings has been sweeping the Arab and Muslim world.
In January, a revolution in Tunisia ended the 23-year ruling of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
In February, another Arab revolution led to the ouster of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak after three decades of his authoritarian rule.
Revolutions have also erupted in Libya, Yemen and Bahrain, while other anti-government unrests are spreading in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait and Algeria.
Political observers believe that people’s uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Jordan, Yemen and Libya are the result of growing “Islamic awakening” in the Middle-Eastern countries.
Elsewhere, the Iranian president stressed the need for the spread of Quranic teachings and principles.
This year’s exhibition, which goes by the theme ‘Quran, Book of Awakening’ will feature various Quranic products for children, young adults and others.
Some 30 countries will be present at the international section of the ten-day exhibition which will be open to the public until August 26.
