Islamic-Iranian Model of Progress to be presented to Leader for final approval

Sadegh Vaez-Zadeh made the remarks during a virtual conference of think tanks working on the Islamic-Iranian model of progress, IRNA reported on Friday.

“Now, after 10 years of study and design, we are nearing the time of materializing the Islamic-Iranian model of progress. On the other hand, we are at the beginning of designing the seventh development plan of the country,” Vaez-Zadeh said.

“The draft of this model is ready to be submitted to the Leader for approval and notification after receiving the latest opinions of the Expediency Council,” he added.

Back in October 2018, Ayatollah Khamenei ordered the Center for the Islamic-Iranian Model of Progress to offer a promoted version of the model of progress so that it would be enforced and implemented within a few years.

The Leader called on the organizations, academic centers, elites, and intellectual leaders to deeply review various aspects of the prepared document and propose their opinions in order to complete and promote it.

He also ordered the center to seek consultations to come up with a promoted version of the model, so that it would be ready for implementation for the 15th century in the Iranian calendar.

The Leader had earlier called for applying all existing capacities in the country in developing the model, saying the Islamic-Iranian model of progress should set the objectives while its strategies should be subject to modifications in the course of time, pointing to an element of flexibility within the texture of the prospective model of progress.

“This is a major and difficult, but plausible and sweet task, and when realized, the country will follow the path of progress, and the auspicious advent of the new Islamic-Iranian civilization will take place in the land of Iran, God willing,” the Leader said.

“Experience has shown that misunderstandings and consequent deviations in implementation have been among problems of the country’s planning documents,” Vaez-Zadeh said.

“The Islamic-Iranian model of progress has been developed in an extensive, collective process with the participation of professors and experts,” he added.

He also expressed satisfaction that the people involved in preparing the model are capable of presenting a new, up-to-date model.
