Islamic Jihad retaliates zionist israel’s air raid on Gaza

The Palestinian resistance movement Islamic Jihad says it has fired a salvo of rockets into southern Israel in retaliation for the regime’s recent deadly airstrike on the besieged Gaza Strip.

The al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, claimed responsibility for the Wednesday rocket attacks on the Israeli-occupied Palestinian lands and said it “responded to (Israeli) aggression with a volley of rockets.”

Israeli sources say more than 50 rockets from Gaza have landed in the southern towns of Sderot and Negev, while the Israeli regime’s Iron Dome missile system has only intercepted three rockets.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister has threatened to act “very forcefully” to the shelling from the besieged Palestinian sliver.

On Tuesday, three Palestinians lost their lives after Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Following the Israeli assault, the Islamic Jihad said those killed in the air raid were members of the Palestinian movement. An Israeli assassination drone targeted them as they “resisted an Israeli military incursion” into the city of Rafah, situated 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of Gaza City.

The Israeli military frequently targets Palestinians along the border with Gaza, which has remained literally cut off from the outside world by a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007.

The siege has turned the densely-populated coastal sliver, home to some 1.7 million Palestinians, into the largest open-air prison in the world.

Attacks against the Palestinians in Gaza continue despite a 2012 Egyptian-mediated truce that ended a deadly Israeli onslaught against the territory.
