JCPOA supervising committee to give fitting response to US anti-Iran bill

Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi announced that the JCPOA supervisoring committee would take appropriate decisions in response to Senate move against Iran.

US has once again demonstrated that its political system is unreliable in the international arena, Boroujerdi said on Saturday pointing to the recent US Senate’s anti-Iran sanctions.

The Iranian committee tasked with supervising the JCPOA implementation has adopted necessary decisions about the recent Senate’s sanctions, he told.

Calling it a blatant violation of the JCPOA, Boroujerdi vowed an appropriate response by the Islamic Republic to the US move against its commitment towards the document signed by six international bodies, including permanent members of the UN Security Council, Germany and the European Union.

Pointing to Iran’s decision towards US lack of commitment, Boroujerdi said other countries would remain committed to their obligations under the JCPOA and would not follow US on the wrong way.

Boroujerdi underlined that the supervising committee on JCPOA implementation is an official body that would hold periodic meetings on the issue and will announce the Islamic Republic’s decisions to respond to US violation of JCPOA.

“I think the bill will receive unanimous votes inside the Parliament to counter the US Senate’s unwise move at odds with JCPOA’s spirit and text,” he added.
