Islamic Republic of Iran is the pioneer in the realm of Shia-Sunni unity
“Iran is the pioneer in different realms, including maintaing unity,” an Iranian Sunni cleric said to show the solidarity between various denominations in the Islamic Republic.
Mamousta Molla Ahmad Sheikhi, the prayer leader of a district in Kermanshah province stating that “albeit the enemies of the country tried to turn this unity to abomination”, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He pointed to the present condition of Sunni people in Iran and said,” after the victory of the 1979 Islamic revolution, the condition of Sunni people improved in cultural, social, economic and scientific realms.”
“During these years (after the victory of the Islamic revolution) people have given more attention to religious scholars,” said Mamousta Sheikhi.
“Today Iran is a paradigm in the Islamic world and we should keep this position via keeping unity and proximity in the country,” the Sunni scholar underlined.
He pointed to the recent uprisings in the Muslim countries and underlined,” Nowadays people do not tolerate the tyrannical governments anymore.”
He went on,” Muslims in different countries have come up with this idea that they should step up and make a move.”
“These movements are in the Islam’s favor; that is the reason why the enemies of Islam and the western countries try to hijack these movements,” Mamousta Sheikhi mentioned.
” These movements do not belong to a specific denomination or tribe, and those who try to divide Muslims and pertain these movements to a specific Islamic school of thought are the enemies’ soldiers,” the senior Iranian Sunni figure said.
He also pointed to the role and duty of Islamic scholars and said religious leaders and scholars should be cognizant of the plots hatched by the enemies and guide people and these movements to the right path.
