Iran to test new facilities in Great Prophet 8 drills
The IRGC Ground Force Commander says Great Prophet 8 will be launched today across the country.
In a meeting with the press on Wednesday, Brig. Gen. Mohammad Pakpour said that drill has had the objective of testing new advanced facilities and organizing public defense and Basij forces.

“Great Prophet military drills was launched today morning in southwest of the country (Sirjan and Sirand), where participating units, part of IRGC Madina Headquarters, started their entrenching operations,” said the Commander.

“ by today and tomorrow, all participating forces in Great Prophet 8 military drills will be in drill zones,” said he, asserting that “ operational phase will start at February 24th and will end in February 26 evening.”

Pakpour said that the drill would be a week. “One of the objectives in drills is exercising defensive schemes on the ground. Also new facilities of Ground Forces will be tested during the drills,” he added.

The IRGC Ground Force commander pointed to application of electronic, communications, and other individual facilities as other systems in Great Prophet 8 drills. “Another objective is to test combat preparedness of the units, which may operationalise theoretical and practical trainings,” he said.

He cited public defense in order to develop Basij resistance forces as another Great Prophet 8 military drills.
