Israel demolishes three workshops in Beit Hanina

The bulldozers of the Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem demolished on Tuesday, a car wash store; a tyre and a care repair garage, in Beit Hanina north of the occupied city of Jerusalem- belongs to Mr. Amjad Yasser Salhab- under the pretext of unauthorized buildings.

Israeli forces that provided protection to the municipality bulldozers attacked the business owner and his brother by bats on their heads causing both bruises and loss of blood. Furthermore, according to Salhab, the police intimidated workers with rifles, in order to force them out of the stores.

According to the car wash store owner the bulldozers demolished the care wash store without a prior warning, knowing that he has filed an application to issue a building permit since 2005. Nonetheless after its inauguration four years ago he was fined 100 thousand NIS.

The area of the business is one dunums and 200 meters and includes: a car wash store; tyre sales and fitting store and a care maintenance garage.

Salhab pointed out that this business is the only source of livelihood for him and his 4 brothers, and another 7 workers. He estimated his losses with a half a million NIS, as he was prevented from taking out his equipments and machineries, and furthermore the occupation municipality shoveled the floor of the business.
