A political analyst says the Israeli regime is committing genocide against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, Press TV reports.

“We have just left this massacre, this holocaust, this real Holocaust because here we can really see what is going on and what is happening,” Alberto Garcia Watson, a political commentator, said in a Wednesday interview with Press TV, referring to the recent Israeli regime’s offensive in blockaded Gaza Strip and the brutal killing of Palestinians there.

According to latest reports, the death toll from ten days of Israeli attacks against the Palestinians in the besieged enclave has reached 227, with more than 1,600 others injured.

“They (the Israelis) are destroying hospitals, they are destroying schools,” he said, adding, “Everyone is targeted.”
Since July 8, the Israeli regime has struck more than 1,800 targets across Gaza, which is home to around 1.8 million Palestinians.

“This is the spirit of Israel. This is the way that Israel sees a possible solution to the conflict in Gaza,” the analyst said.
According to the UN humanitarian agencies, about a third of the dead are women and children. Some 18,000 people have taken shelter in Gaza schools. The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.

Israel has blockaded Gaza since 2007, denying the Palestinian people there their basic rights, such as freedom of movement, jobs that pay proper wages, and adequate healthcare and education.
