Israeli airstrikes target Rafah

Israeli warplanes have carried out a series of airstrikes on Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

However, there are no details yet about how many airstrikes were conducted and if there are any casualties.

On December 18, at least five people were killed by an Israeli aerial assault on the town of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

The attack was one of the deadliest carried out by the Israeli military since Tel Aviv’s December 2008-January 2009 war on the Gaza Strip, which left more than 1,400 dead and inflicted heavy damage — estimated to be above USD 1.6 billion — on the coastal territory’s economy.
