Israeli fighter jets launch a series of airstrikes throughout Syrian territories

In the hours following the collapse of President Bashar al-Assad's government, Israeli military aircraft launched a fresh series of airstrikes targeting Damascus and various other regions across Syria.

According to security sources, Israeli aircraft launched strikes on the al-Mazzeh military base located in Damascus, as well as on Khalkhalah in the southern region of al-Suweida, on Sunday.

Warplanes targeted a significant security complex in the Kafr Sousa district of Damascus, while also carrying out bombings in several residential areas on the outskirts of the Syrian capital.

Reports have emerged of loud explosions reverberating throughout Damascus in the aftermath of airstrikes.

Reports have emerged of assaults occurring in the rural regions of Daraa in southern Syria. The strikes reportedly targeted sites purported to be weapon depots, air defense batteries, and missile production facilities.

Israeli forces conducted a military incursion into Syrian territory, penetrating the southwestern city of Quneitra, which is situated near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. This maneuver follows the seizure of control over parts of Syria by various militant groups.

State-controlled media outlets have reported the movement of Israeli tanks into Khan Arnabeh, located northeast of Quneitra and approximately five kilometers from the border with the occupied Golan Heights.

Reports have emerged indicating that occupation forces are constructing a substantial trench along the Syrian border and have demolished facilities they allege housed weapons stockpiles.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he has directed Israeli forces to seize control of a buffer zone in the Golan Heights, which was established by a 1974 ceasefire agreement with Syria.

He additionally stated that the 1974 disengagement agreement with Syria has disintegrated.

Earlier today, Syrian militant factions launched an assault on Damascus, seizing control of the capital’s radio and television station, along with significant military and security headquarters.

Militant factions under the leadership of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) have declared a complete takeover of the Syrian capital, corroborating reports of the Assad government’s collapse.

Since the onset of the foreign-backed conflict in Syria, Israel has been identified as a key supporter of opposition groups opposing the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
