Israeli Strikes Claim 40 Lives in Gaza in Single Day

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported that Israeli attacks in the enclave over the past 24 hours have resulted in 40 fatalities and left 125 individuals injured. This latest update brings the total number of injuries from the ongoing Israeli offensive to 118,491.

According to information released by the Health Ministry on Monday, at least 52,535 Palestinians have lost their lives in what has been described as a genocidal conflict with Israel since October 2023.

According to a statement from the ministry, Israeli attacks in the enclave over the past 24 hours have resulted in the deaths of 40 people and left 125 others injured. This brings the total number of injuries in the ongoing Israeli offensive to 118,491, as reported by the Anadolu news agency.

“Countless victims remain trapped beneath the debris and along the roads, as rescuers struggle to reach them,” the statement continued.

On March 18, the Israeli military recommenced its operations in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of 2,436 individuals and injuring 6,450 more. This escalation marks the breakdown of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place since January.

In November of last year, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, citing allegations of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel is currently the subject of a genocide lawsuit at the International Court of Justice regarding its military actions in the territory.
