US media: Trump’s presidency ending in disaster

US media have predicted a disastrous end to the shocking 4-year presidency of Donald Trump marked by a degree of racial and social division unprecedented since the American Civil War.

Media reports revealed armed Trump loyalists, some linked to military and law enforcement agencies, were prepared to stage violent protests amid the out-of-control coronavirus pandemic causing record-high death tolls.

“Trump is leaving America in a vortex of violence, sickness and death and more internally estranged than it has been for 150 years,” CNN reported on Tuesday.

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe told CNN that he was shocked by the scope of reports on possible new attacks by Trump loyalists.

“I don’t think in the entire scope of my career working counter terrorism issues for many, many years, I don’t think I ever saw a bulletin go out that concerned armed protest activity in 50 states in a three- or four-day period,” McCabe said on CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.”

While the FBI was warning the unprecedented level of danger posed by armed Trump loyalists across the US from January 16 to January 19, US health officials expressed concern that the daily death toll of Americans dying from the pandemic Trump had ignored could reach 5,000.

“This is the legacy President-elect Joe Biden will inherit in eight days when he swears to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution — an oath that Trump trampled when inciting the Capitol attack last week,” CNN pointed out.

Biden told reporters that despite the FBI warnings and health concerns amid the Covid-19 pandemic, he was not afraid of taking the oath of office next week.

Biden has vowed to focus on fixing the broken country plagued by social division and disease, once he takes the helm from Trump.

Meanwhile, Trump has not appeared in public in days following the January 6 riot on Capitol Hill which has been transformed into a war zone with multiple barricades of all kinds surroundings various government buildings out of fear of further attacks from Trump loyalists.

To silence and stop the Commander in Chief of all the armed forces of the United States, including the Army, the Navy and the Air Force, from “further incitement of violence”, his social media accounts were suspended.

Trump complained in a tweet, which was later deleted, that canceling his social media accounts was “banning free speech.”

In one of the deleted tweets, Trump wrote “Twitter has gone further and further in banning free speech and tonight, Twitter employees have coordinated with the Democrats and the Radical Left in removing my account from their platform, to silence me.”
