Italian PM resigns after losing reform referendum

Italy’s Prime Minister Renzi has announced his resignation after losing a referendum on constitutional reforms, which saw the participation of over 30 million voters. The leaders of populist parties Five-Star Movement and Northern League have welcomed the outcome and called for snap elections.
