Syria in Last 24 Hours: Air Force Heavily Pounds Terrorists’ Military Positions in Homs Province

The ISIL terrorists sustained heavy losses and casualties in the Syrian air force’s strikes on their positions in Eastern and Southwestern Homs province.
Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.
Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.
Homs
The Syrian Army aircraft pounded the ISIL’s positions and movements in Eastern and Southwestern Homs, inflicting major losses on the terrorists on Tuesday.
The fighter jets carried out several bombardments on ISIL strongholds in al-Mo’ayzileh region and al-Mo’ayzileh dam in Eastern Badiyeh (desert) and East of al-Heil oilfield near the town of Palmyra (Tadmur).
The warplanes further struck ISIL’s movements near al-Mohasa Mountain South of the town of al-Quaryatayn in Southwestern Homs.
ISIL suffered a number of casualties and its vehicles and equipment were destroyed in the air raids.
Hama
Militants in 11 regions in Hama and Idlib provinces handed over their arms to relevant officials and joined the nationwide peace agreement with the Army troops, the Russian Defense Ministry announced in its latest report on Tuesday.
The ministry’s report said that militants in 11 regions in Idlib and Hama provinces surrendered to the government forces, adding that a sum of 2,407 regions, towns and villages have thus far joined peace with the army.
The Russian ministry said on Sunday that representatives of militants in 17 more regions in Hama province endorsed peace with the Syrian Army, adding that the total number of towns, villages and regions that have thus far joined the nationwide reconciliation plan stands at 2,386 now.
Aleppo
A sum of 2,083 Kurdish fighters have thus far been killed or held captured by Turkish forces in Afrin region in Northwestern Aleppo, the Turkish Army’s General Staff announced in a statement on Tuesday.
The army’s statement said that a sum of 2,083 Kurdish militants have been killed by the Turkish troops and Ankara-backed militants within the framework of Operation Olive Brach in Afrin region.
Militant-affiliated sources reported earlier on Tuesday that the Turkish Army troops and Ankara-backed militants captured more Kurdish-held regions in Northwestern Aleppo and took full control over the entire region between the Turkish border and Afrin.
The news websites reported that the Ankara-backed militants engaged in fierce clashes with the Kurdish fighters in Sheikh Hadid flank within the framework of Operation Olive Branch in Afrin region and captured the villages of Sanara Foqani, Sanara Tahtani and Ankala.
The websites said that the army and their allied militants managed to capture a region between Jandaris and Sheikh Hadid regions and took control of Turkey-Syrian border in Afrin region.
Idlib
Abu al-Yaman Halfaya, a field commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front), was gunned down by unknown attackers in Idlib province amid intensifying clashes among rival militants in Idlib and Aleppo province, local sources reported on Tuesday.
Notorious Commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at Abu al-Yaman Halfaya was assassinated by unknown assailants’ gun fire near the town of Khan Sheikhoun in Southern Idlib.
Fierce clashes are underway between Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at and the newly-formed Syria’s Tahrir Front in Idlib and Aleppo provinces.
Damascus
The Terrorist groups opened fire at people that tried to leave Eastern Ghouta for the Syrian Army-controlled regions via a safe corridor as a daily ceasefire has started in the region.
The Arabic-language website of SANA reported that Al-Nusra Front and other terrorist groups pounded the safe corridor opened for the evacuation of civilians in al-Wafedin camp in Eastern Ghouta in five rocket and mortar attacks.
It added that the terrorists are attacking the people in a bid to prevent them from leaving the region to use them as human shield.
The Syrian official together with the Russian Reconciling Center for Syria have embarked on equipping al-Wafedin region after a daily ceasefire started in the region to make it a safe exit corridor.
The entire logistical affairs have been prepared for welcoming the fleeing civilians, transferring them to Dowayer center and rendering humanitarian services.
Meantime, Russian General Viktor Pankov said that civilians cannot leave Eastern Ghouta as humanitarian corridors had been shelled by militants.
