Larijani: NATO’s Decision to Deploy Patriot Missiles in Turkey Leaves Bad Consequences on Region


Speaker of Iranian Shura Council, Ali Larijani, on Sunday stressed that the NATO’s decision to deploy Patriot missiles in Turkey will have bad consequences on the region and exacerbate problems in it.

” Deployment of such systems will have adverse consequences and will exacerbate problems in the region,” Larijani told reporters upon his arrival in Tehran from a three-leg regional tour included Syria, Lebanon and Turkey.

He pointed out that he discussed with the Turkish officials the crisis in Syria and means of solving it in addition to the bilateral relations.

Larijani said we came closer to a common views on leading regional issues, including the crisis and means of settling it.

He called on security officials in the region to hold continuous meeting for solving the crisis in Syria.
