UPDATED MAP: Latest map update of Deir Ezzor battle

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) had a big day in the Deir Ezzor Governorate, liberating several imperative sites from the so-called Islamic State (ISIS).

To start the day, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Legion, alongside Hezbollah and Liwaa Fatemiyoun, seized the T-2 Pumping Station in western Deir Ezzor, following the Islamic State’s subsequent withdrawal from the base.

Following the liberation of the T-2 Pumping Station, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces continued to make gains inside Deir Ezzor City, entering the Ummal District after a long absence from this area.

To conclude the day, the Syrian Arab Army finally took control of Saqr Island, marking the end of the Islamic State’s two year reign over this important site east of the provincial capital.
