Leader of Ummah calls for enhancement of Iran’s military might

The Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called on Iran’s armed forces to enhance their defensive capabilities to protect the country against foreign aggression.

At a Tuesday meeting with Iranian military commanders in the northern city of Noshahr, the Leader underscored the importance of military might commensurate with goals and ideals of the Islamic Republic as the “long-term objective” of Iran’s armed forces.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that the ideals of the Islamic system are inclusive and incorporate the entire human society.

“To achieve these ideals, we do not approve of invasion and aggression against the dignity of any country and nation, but the armed forces should gain [adequate] capabilities so that nobody can violate the strong fortress of the dear Iranian country and nation,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader who has travelled to Noshahr to visit a military hardware exhibition called on the Iranian armed forces to pay serious attention to acquiring the latest scientific know-how, manufacturing state-of-the-art equipment, promoting ties with scientific centers and achieving spiritual growth.

During his visit to the military hardware exhibition, Ayatollah Khamenei was briefed on various achievements of the Iranian armed forces.

The Iranian armed forces have exhibited their indigenously designed and manufactured military products, including subsurface-to-surface Jask 2 missile launching system, Thamen and Shahab advanced radar systems, network-based marine combat simulators as well as several applied research projects.

During his tour of the exhibition, Ayatollah Khamenei also ordered the launching of the domestically overhauled super-heavy Tareq 901 submarine and indigenous Sahand destroyer in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.
