Leader Praises Iranian People for Foiling Enemies’ Plots to Sow Discord among Ethnic Groups

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei warned of enemies' attempts to fuel ethnic and religious differences in Iran, lauding the Iranian people for defusing their plots.

The enemies had pinned hope on fueling ethnic and religious differences in Iran, but Iranians foiled this plot, Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in Tehran on Monday, addressing the staff of the Congress of Martyrs of Kurdistan province in Western Iran.

His remarks were released on Thursday in the Congress of Martyrs of Kurdistan province.

He said that the wise people of Kurdistan managed to foil enemies’ plots in the early years after the Islamic Revolution.

He went on to say that people of Kurdistan and West Azarbaijan province have greatly served the Islamic Revolution and killed enemies’ hopes.

During the Sacred Defense years, people of Kurdistan both fought the foreign enemy as well as anti-Revolution forces, he said, praising martyrs of this Iranian region.

He called on the young generation to study the history of how the Islamic Revolution has reached the current strong point and what efforts have been behind all these achievements.

In a relevant statement last month, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) urged the government and nation to keep united in the face of the US’ hostile line-up against Iran, adding that the US failure in achieving its anti-Iran goals through military means has led Washington to stage a full-fledge economic and psychological war.

Following the global hegemonic system’s major plot against Iran and the 8-year Iraqi imposed war of 1980-88 failed, the US, along with the global arrogance, is now after depleting our country of its strengthening elements of victory and resistance, i.e. faith, resolute determination, self-reliance, unity, solidarity and hope for the future and horizons of pride and glory, read the statement issued by the IRGC.

The communique was rolled out on the 39th anniversary of the liberation of Khorramshahr, a Southwestern Iranian city which was conquered by the military of the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussain in 1979, from the Ba’athist regime’s occupation in 1980.

The statement added that vigilance in the face of plots which are mostly hatched by Washington is high on the agenda of the country’s today plans and programs.

It underlined that most threats against the country are posed by the “adventurist and pharaonic regime of the US”, and called for ratcheting up the level of preparedness at all national arenas.

“The failure of plot- and crisis-stirring against the Islamic Iran in the post-war era, which have brought nothing but a report card full of defame and humiliation for the US and the allies of the White House, has mired the campaign of the enemies in illusion, in a way that with repetitive strategic mistakes and miscalculations they are now bluffing at the bottom of weakness and wretchedness, and using their mercenary super media  and their vicious gambits,” the announcement went on, saying that the enemies are still after deceiving the Iranian nation while at the same time calling them terrorist.

The statement reassured that all plots of the US and its allies, specially “the Zionist regime and Saudi reactionaries”, against the Islamic Iran will end up in failure, disgrace, and fiasco under the guiding of the Ayatollah Khamenei, warning that at the same time the solidarity, unity, and determination of the Iranians to counter the US plots will strengthen.

The statement concluded with urging the nation and all organizations and entities of the country to keep united against the psychological and economic warfare of the enemies.
