State of Red Level of Terror Threat in Almaty of Kazakhstan


On Monday morning, unidentified assailants opened fire from an automatic weapon in the center of Almaty near the local police station. According to the police, there were at least two criminals, one of whom was shot dead after he resisted arrest.
Also, according to some sources, gunmen opened fire in other districts of the former capital of Kazakhstan.
Two police officers were killed as a result of the shooting, several others are wounded.
One attacker, 27, has been captured but an accomplice is still at large, the interior ministry said in a statement.
