General Joseph Aoun on Friday condemned the Israeli military escalation in the Nabatieh and Iqlim Al-Tuffah regions, which endangers civilians. He denounced what he described as “Israel’s continued violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and the November ceasefire agreement.”
Israel continues to disregard regional and international appeals to cease hostilities and support de-escalation initiatives, according to a statement from Aoun. He emphasized that these actions require a “decisive response from the international community” to stop these aggressions, which jeopardize the ongoing efforts to stabilize Lebanon and the broader region.
In a strong statement, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned Israeli actions, highlighting the danger they pose to regional stability.
A Lebanese woman was killed and 21 others sustained injuries on Friday following a series of intense strikes conducted by Israeli forces. The attacks targeted various locations in Nabatieh, located in southern Lebanon, including a residential apartment.
