Lebanese PM urging Israel to adhere completely to the ceasefire agreement and withdraw from Lebanese territory

Lebanon's Prime Minister has called on Israel to honor the terms of the recently brokered ceasefire agreement, which aims to halt the protracted and deadly hostilities that have plagued the region for months.

Lebanon’s Prime Minister has called on Israel to fully adhere to the recent ceasefire agreement, which aims to halt the months-long deadly escalation of tensions with Lebanon.

On Wednesday, Najib Mikati called for the adversary’s unwavering adherence to the ceasefire agreement, urging a complete withdrawal from all contested regions and the enactment of Resolution 1701. This resolution, ratified by the United Nations Security Council in 2006, aimed to bring an end to the devastating conflict instigated by the regime against the nation.

In the aftermath of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s acceptance of a ceasefire agreement, which was deliberated upon in a session of his security cabinet following a proposal by the United States and France, regional resistance factions are commending Hezbollah for its resolute stance. The ceasefire comes into effect after what is considered Israel’s unsuccessful campaign. Iraq’s Kata’ib Hezbollah has asserted that the agreement regarding Lebanon could only be reached due to the unwavering determination of resistance fighters.

In October, Israel commenced intensified military operations against Lebanon following the initiation of a large-scale conflict in the Gaza Strip. The hostilities have resulted in at least 3,768 fatalities, including 42 people who lost their lives across Lebanon on Tuesday, with an additional 15,699 individuals reported injured.

The Prime Minister of Lebanon has called upon both civilians and government officials to intensify their efforts in resolving ongoing disputes, emphasizing the critical need for unity in light of the country’s current sensitive circumstances.

In a statement highlighting the gravity of the current situation, he remarked on the extraordinary times we are experiencing, emphasizing the significant and shared responsibility to unify efforts in establishing a state that safeguards its accomplishments.

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati praised the degree of solidarity attained among the populace, attributing it to their collective efforts towards unity.

He stated that although there were widespread expectations of discord given the challenging social conditions, citizens demonstrated unity by coming together and supporting one another.

In line with its commitment to safeguarding national security, Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement has launched a series of retaliatory strikes against Israel. The attacks, which have targeted numerous strategic military sites across the occupied Palestinian territories, come in response to Israeli aggression. Concurrently, Hezbollah forces are actively repelling Israeli military efforts to make inroads into southern Lebanon.

Analysts believe that the successful strikes were a crucial factor in Tel Aviv’s decision to agree to the ceasefire agreement. In a significant turn of events, Hezbollah’s military operations have compelled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to agree to a ceasefire in Lebanon. This decision follows the Israeli forces’ inability to secure any territory in Lebanon and the substantial losses incurred during confrontations with Hezbollah.

The Lebanese Prime Minister wrapped up his address by forecasting a brighter future for the nation, given the enhanced mutual understanding that has been reached among its citizens.

Officials expressed optimism that Lebanon’s future could improve, emphasizing the necessity for political unity and reconciliation to overcome prevailing challenges.
