Beirut rejected the recent proposal raised by the al-Nusrah Front to swap their hostages with the terrorist group’s prisoners in the Lebanese jails and two Syrian villages which have been taken back from the terrorists recently.

“Lebanon rejected al-Nusra Front terrorist group’s recent proposal since it is an inhumane act and opens way for the terrorists’ control over the strategic regions which is considered as a threat to the Lebanese bordering areas and the Syrian capital,” the Lebanese al-Nahar daily reported on Wednesday.

The father of one of the Lebanese hostages kidnapped by the al-Nusra said that the ringleader of the terrorist group, Abu Malik al-Talli, has demanded to be given back control over al-Ma’ra and Falitah villages in Syria near the Lebanese border and freedom of 5 female prisoners in Lebanon’s jails for releasing the Lebanese hostages.

But Lebanon rejected the proposal, describing it inhumane.

The Nusra Front holds sixteen Lebanese soldiers and policemen hostage.

Among the five hostages named was Saja al-Dulaimi, former wife of ISIL caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who was arrested in Lebanon last December.
