Syrians Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad said on Thursday that the plots and interventions by the West in the internal affairs of the Middle East countries have created many problems for the region.

Syrian deputy foreign minister made the remark in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on the sidelines of the 16th foreign ministerial meeting of the non-aligned movement (NAM) in Bali of Indonesia.

Foreign Minister Mikdad also criticized the biased and selective attitude of Western countries, particularly the US vis-à-vis the Middle East developments.

Syrian diplomat also submitted a report on the recent developments of the Middle East to Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi.

Foreign Minister Salehi emphasized the strategic relations between Tehran and Damascus in the meeting with the Syrian diplomat.
