Iran’s Parliament Speaker Warns of Enemies’ Divisive Plots against Muslims

13920525000243_PhotoI Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani warned that enemies have hatched plots to sow discord among Muslims, and asked the worldwide Muslim community to increase vigilance.
Larijani voiced concern over the chaotic situation of certain regional countries, urging Egyptians and Lebanese people to preserve their vigilance against foreign plots to wage civil wars in their countries.

Larijani pointed to the recent killing of the Egyptian people as a blatant example of the enemies’ plots against the Muslim Ummah, and said, “The massacre of the Egyptian people has inflicted irreparable damage on Egypt which has a high position in the Muslim world, and this has fueled concerns about the Egyptian people and the country.”

Egypt plunged into violence after the country’s army ousted President Mohammad Mursi, a senior leader of Ikhwan al-Muslimun party, suspended the constitution, and dissolved the parliament on July 3. The military overthrow followed days of mass protests against Mursi.

The army also declared chief justice of Egypt’s Supreme Constitutional Court, Adly Mansour, as interim president.

Later in July, the Egyptian Prosecutor General ordered the arrest of Muslim Brotherhood leaders, including the supreme leader of the group, Mohammed Badie, on charges of inciting violence.

Many people have been killed in violent clashes involving supporters and opponents of Mursi and security forces in the last few weeks.
