Anti-war demonstrators have staged a rally outside the Saudi Embassy in London to protest against the kingdom’s deadly airstrikes on Yemen, Press TV reports.

The people who took part in the protest called for an end to the ongoing bombardment of Yemen, which has so far claimed hundreds of lives.

“We are here in front of the Saudi Embassy to ask them to stop the aggression against our people in Yemen. They are bombarding day and night for no reason whatsoever,” a protester (shown below) told Press TV.

Saudi Arabia’s air campaign against Yemen started on March 26, without a UN mandate, in a bid to restore power to fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who has fled Yemen to Riyadh.

The Saudi air raids on the impoverished country entered their 18th day on Sunday. Hundreds of civilians, including women and children, have been killed and thousands more wounded in the Saudi airborne attacks against Yemen.

“We believe it’s a disaster for the people of Yemen to be suffering such bombardment, which will not create any basis for a political solution. On the contrary, this would further impoverish the already poor country,” another demonstrator (shown below) said.

The crowd further expressed anger at the mainstream media for failing to cover the major hardships that Yemeni people are facing, including the extreme poverty in the country and the Yemenis’ view about the impacts of the Saudi assault on their lives.
