Collective Islamic prayer in support of Syria

A collective prayer was held Friday at the Great Umayyad Mosque in Damascus during which the participants affirmed solidarity and support to Syria’s citizens and army under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad against the global war waged against them that is backed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
They condemned foreign intervention in Syria’s internal affairs, expressing readiness to sacrifice their lives so that Syria will get out of the crisis victorious.
The participants stressed that the enemies of Islam want to destroy the Muslims and tear them apart, calling on all Arabs and Muslims to be one hand in confronting terrorism that is threatening their existence and Arabism.
For his part, Sheikh Abbas al-Saadi, Chairman of the Central Council of the General Secretariat of Sheikhs of Arab Tribes affirmed that the Arab tribes and clans in Syria will remain faithful to their homeland, pointing out that the enemies can not undermine Syria’s national unity.
