8th Intl. Congress of Muslim Medics kicks off in Mashhad

The 8th International Congress of World Muslim Medics kicked off today in holy city of Mashhad.
The international congress brings together some 300 Muslim doctors from around the world to participate in the scientific meetings, workshops, pilgrimage and cultural programs.

According to the congress Executive Manager Hojjat al-Eslam Mohammad Khademi, 70 percent of the participants are from the United States and 50 percent are visiting Iran for the very first time.

The event is organized by the Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly in collaboration with Imamia Medics International, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, Astan Quds Razavi, Municipality of Mashhad and the Governor of Fars.

The conference will include scientific sessions covering lectures and posters presentations, sightseeing, paying tribute to holy shrines, visits to historic places, meetings with scholars, and brain-storming sessions among others.

The event will be an intellectual, spiritual and social event beginning from Mashhad and carry on to Tehran, Qom, Isfahan and Shiraz.
