Israel Achilles’ heel, just resistance

The Lebanese parliament speaker says resistance is the only way to counter the ongoing Israeli aggression and atrocities.

Nabih Berry said on Sunday that resistance against Israel is the only viable response to Tel Aviv’s aggressive military adventures.

He noted that Israel’s war on Lebanon in 2006 and its ongoing offensive against the Gaza Strip prove that Israel can only be dealt with through resistance.

The senior lawmaker warned that regional conflicts and turmoil must not distract Arabs, including Lebanese and Palestinians, from realities in the region.

Berry warned of certain conspiracies to divide the Middle East region into small states.

The remarks come as at least 166 people have lost their lives and 1100 others were injured due to Israeli airstrikes in the impoverished region since Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) has said in a statement that Tel Aviv’s offensive violates even the most minimum standards of international humanitarian law by attacking civilians indiscriminately.

People have held protest rallies across the globe to denounce Israel for its aggression against Palestinians in the impoverished region.

On Sunday, thousands of people in Norway took to the streets of the capital, Oslo, to condemn Israeli strikes and to voice support for Palestine.

Members of the Palestine community and their supporters in Chile marched in the capital Santiago to denounce the Israeli atrocities and its continued bombardments of the Gaza Strip.

Protesters in Afghanistan also held a rally in Kabul to denounce the killing of innocent civilians in the besieged enclave.

Similar protests were also held in Australia calling for an immediate end to the violence.

People in Iran, the US, Jordan, Tunisia, Turkey, France, Indonesia and Britain have also taken to the streets, calling for a halt to the Israeli attacks.
