Palestinian prisoners freed from Israeli jails at last

Palestinian prisoners returned home after many years of detention in Israeli occupation jails. Egyptian TV footage shows freed Palestinian prisoners in their buses crossing the Egyptian borders into the Palestinian lands in Gaza Strip.

Ismail Hniya, the Palestinian Prime Minister for Gaza government was in the reception festivals in Rafah Crossing near the Egyptian borders.

Al Aqsa TV in Gaza and number of local and international TVs broadcast the first images of celebrations by the Palestinian people in West Bank and Gaza while receiving their dear freed prisoners.

Palestinian prisoners entered the Rafah Crossing just before noon on Tuesday and were greeted at first by the Egyptian army soldiers and then by then by Palestinians and families waiting on the border side.

Earlier, Hamas’ senior leader Mahmoud Az-Zahar in the Gaza Strip confirmed that the group has handed over Shalit to Egypt as part of the prisoner swap with Israeli occupation forces.

In a text message, Mahmoud Zahar said that the movement is no longer holding Shalit. Palestinian officials in Gaza said an SUV whisked Shalit across the border and quickly returned to Gaza early Tuesday.

Ahmed Jabari, top commander of the Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades (E.Q.B) Hamas’ military wing, was one of those seen leading Shalit in the video (left of Gilad in the image above).

Israeli occupation authorities confirmed that the abducted Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit has reached his home in the occupied territories of Palestine after 1,942 days in captivity .
