Head of Hamas’s political bureau Khaled Mishaal has said that the message of Mohamed al-Faqih and all Palestinian martyrs to their people calls for standing united in the face of the Israeli occupation.
In a speech he delivered over the phone to mourners and relatives of martyr Mohamed a-Faqih in al-Khalil on Thursday evening, Mishaal reiterated his Movement’s keenness on ending the national division, rearranging the Palestinian house on democratic foundations and participating in all internal elections.
Mishaal also found the chance to talk to the mother of martyr Faqih, Umm Hussein, as well as his brothers, Hussein and Ayed, and to express his deep condolences to them.
He hailed the heroism of martyr Faqih and the sacrifices he made for his homeland and people. The Hamas official added that the martyr affirmed with his own blood that the Israeli occupation has no future and that the dawn of freedom, victory and liberation has become closer than ever.
Mohamed a-Faqih, a 29-year-old member of al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, died last Wednesday at dawn during armed clashes with Israeli soldiers in Surif town, northwest of al-Khalil.
