Supreme Leader: US trampling rights of world nations to secure Zionist interests

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution today made it clear that the US response to the Syrian crisis, following Damascus’ acceptance of Moscow’s proposal regarding chemical stockpiles, ought to be serious, without deception and a real reversal of the hitherto intransigent and blundering approach.

According to IRIB World Service, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in his meeting with officials in charge of Iran’s annual Hajj pilgrimage caravan, pointing to the warmongering threats of the US, said: “On the claim of their national interests, which are actually the interests of the Zionists and the big capitalists, they are ready to fuel the fire and trample the interests of world countries and nations.”
Elaborating on the current situation of the Muslim world and the region and the efforts of the ill-wishers to stir clashes among Muslims on the pretext of sectarian differences, he called the Hajj pilgrimage as a symbol of Islamic unity and “the source of political, cultural and spiritual might of the Islamic Ummah.”
The Leader noted that one of the prerequisites of the Hajj pilgrimage is the spirit of fraternity among Muslims during this grand obligatory act, adding: “Distancing from squabbles during the Hajj period, as highlighted by the Holy Qur’an, means refraining from rifts among Muslims including both verbal disputes and hatred.”
Expressing regret over the bid by certain elements to misinterpret the term ‘avoidance of squabbles’ during the Hajj, he said: “What they are trying to do is to cast doubts on the philosophy of the ceremony for Disavowal of Disbelievers, despite the fact that confronting polytheism and disbelief are among the most fundamental injunctions of Islam.”
Ayatollah Khamenei said one of the main axes of a true Hajj is strengthening of one’s spirituality, adding: “Strong faith, reliance upon God and trust in Divine Promise, which are the prerequisites for traversing the most difficult paths without fear of the superficial awe of the world powers, are the outcome of the (true) Hajj.”
He said the enemies of Islam very well know that infighting among the various Muslim denominations is to the benefit of the usurper Zionist entity.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed: “Prominent ulema of the Shi’ite Muslims, such as Imam Khomeini and others, have always stressed preservation of unity among Muslims.
