Peace with Israel cannot stop regime’s war machine: Iran warns after Jenin carnage

Iran has condemned the bloody Israeli military aggression against the West Bank city of Jenin as an example of “state terrorism,” saying the aggression proved that peace with the usurping entity cannot stop its “war machine.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan’ani made the remarks during a weekly press briefing in Tehran on Monday, after the Tel Aviv regime launched a major offensive in Jenin, killing at least seven Palestinians and injuring dozens.

“The tragic incident …, comprising massive combined aerial, ground and missile attacks by the Zionist regime’s army on the city of Jenin, is a criminal act and a clear example of state terrorism,” he said.

“Crime is institutionalized in the nature of the Zionist regime. The latest crime in Jenin showed once again that peace and compromise cannot deter the regime’s war machine and that this regime is neither trustworthy nor seeking peace.”

The spokesman also emphasized that the Palestinian nation has not committed any crime except defending its rights in the face of the occupying regime, predicting that the Palestinians will once again defeat the Zionist forces.

He also called on international organizations to intervene in order to uphold the Palestinians’ rights.

“The Palestinian nation’s defense of its right and resistance against the Zionists’ aggression will not reduce the responsibility of international bodies, including the United Nations and the Security Council, in this respect,” Kan’ani added.

“The international community bears responsibility for the rights of the Palestinian nation. Namely, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is expected to act seriously and effectively in this regard.”
