Nasrallah warns Israel of any attack

Hezbollah secretary general warns Israel of great risks if it decides to once again attack Lebanon or on any other country in the Middle East.

Speaking to the Kuwaiti television Al-Rai on Thursday, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah said that if Israel launches an attack against Lebanon or anywhere else in the region, “it would be taking a very dangerous risk on its part.”

He reminded that present Israeli politicians and generals, like their predecessors, “are very worried and very cautious and we would like them to stay that way,” adding that “the blood of Imad Mughniyeh would haunt them everywhere.”

Mughniyeh was assassinated in a car bomb in Syria in 2008. Hezbollah has accused Israel in the assassination, a charge denied by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s office.

“In July 2006 the resistance proved it possesses defensive capabilities and the enemy was stunned to see what had taken place because they did not expect to face a resistance of this kind. We will not allow them to target our cities. There are red lines and we’ll hit back and we are capable of it, however we do not discuss the nature of the weapons we’ll be using,” Nasrallah said.

“I assure that any new Israeli war will be an adventure with uncalculated results for the Israeli side and will eventually change the face of this region…,” he said.

“When you see all this American and Israeli noise, this means they want to use this noise to achieve political, psychological and certain security advantages without resorting to war,” Nasrallah noted.

Elsewhere, he rejected the repeated Israeli allegation of Syria supplying Hezbollah with long-range surface-to-surface Scud missiles.
