No power matches Iran in ‘classic wars’
A senior military official says the Iranian armed forces are capable of inflicting “serious damage” upon the enemy in the event of a conflict.
“Today, Iran’s armed forces have the capability to inflict serious damage upon the enemy from ground, sea and air in asymmetrical and classic wars,” the Commander of Iran’s Ground Forces Brig. Gen. Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said on Thursday.
Echoing the remarks by Brig. Gen. Hussein Salami, the deputy commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Pourdastan noted that Iran’s Ground Forces is “invincible,” since it is backed by the entire nation.
Pourdastan warned that the country’s enemies have adopted a soft war approach towards Iran, Fars news agency reported.
“Soft threats against Iran include: psychological operations, promotion of depravity, drug addiction, Iranophobia and sowing sectarian seeds and religious discord,” the Iranian commander said.
The Ground Forces will continue to closely monitor such threats and devise countermeasures, while at the same time enhancing their military might.
