Ahmadinejad: US ploys aim to create rift

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned against deceitful plots hatched by the United States and Israel, saying the duo seeks to create a Middle East under their dominance.

“They say they want to create a new and greater Middle East under the US and the Zionist regime’s (Israel) dominance. I am telling you that a new and greater Middle East will be established without the existence of the US and the Zionist regime,” said President Ahmadinejad in an address to a large crowd in the Iranian city of Sanandaj, the capital of the western province of Kordestan, on Wednesday.

He added that enemies are trying to wage a war among nations and governments and cause tribal strife through deceitful plots and pointed out, “In recent years, regional nations have realized that the United States and the Zionist regime are their main enemies.”

The Iranian chief executive noted that the US and its allies intend to trample on the legitimate rights of regional nations “in favor of their own illegitimate interests.”

“I want to tell arrogant powers that this time you are also wrong. This time, regional countries will also foil all your plots through their vigilance, unity and faith,” President Ahmadinejad stressed.

He emphasized that the Middle East region, North Africa and the rest of the world will “get rid of arrogant powers.”

“Arrogant powers try to deceive nations. They have put the Iranian nation under pressure to oblige it to retreat but the resistance of Iranians and their steadfastness has led to their (the West’s) defeat,” the Iranian president concluded.
