500 Egyptian activists cross into Gaza

About 500 Egyptian activists have crossed into the besieged Gaza Strip in a move to express their solidarity with the Palestinians amid a new wave of violent Israeli airstrikes on the coastal enclave.

According to the Associated Press, the visit, also aimed at delivering medical supplies to those wounded in the deadly attacks, took place on Sunday.
On Friday, thousands of people staged rallies in Egypt’s two largest cities, Cairo and Alexandria, waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans against Israel in condemnation of its murderous attacks on the besieged enclave.
Moreover, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, during a joint press conference with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Cairo on Saturday, warned that the ongoing airstrikes by the Israeli regime on Gaza would jeopardize the security of the region.
