More areas have come under the army’s control, including the strategic al-Noubeh Mountain in the northern countryside of Lattakia province, as the army units continue stepped-up operations against terrorist organizations in different areas.

In Lattakia Army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, establish control over the strategic al-Noubeh Mountain in the northern countryside of Lattakia province after destroying the terrorists’ last positions in the area.

For the first time in over three years, military helicopters for the Syrian Arab Army took off from Kwairis Military Airport in Aleppo province on Tuesday, signaling its return as a strategic springboard for operations against ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, and other terrorist organizations.

The airport’s return to operational status was announced by a military source who confirmed that military helicopters took off from the site which is located 40km east of Aleppo city. Training activities has also resumed in the nearby Air Force Academy.

Commander of the Airport Gen. Munzer Zammam asserted commitment to continuing the fight against terrorism, saying that the airport is back in service thanks to the valiance of its garrison which repelled constant attacks by ISIS for three years.

The stalwart defense of the airport’s garrison motivated the army forces that were working to break the siege imposed on the airport, eventually succeeding in this effort under the leadership of Col. Suhail Hassan, and afterwards these forces went on to secure the surroundings of the airport and the academy established control over the nearby villages, farms, and the international highway.

In Damascus countryside an army unit carried out dealt heavy blows to terrorist dens in Erbin town in Damascus Countryside, field sources told SANA reporter.

The sources added the army unit operation ended up with destroying a rocket launch-pad and a site for so called “Jaish al-Islam” and the killing of many terrorists, including Bassel Abu Shanab, Mohamed al-Domani and Hayl al-Hussein.

Meanwhile, another army unit killed 6 terrorists, injured 13 others and destroyed their ammunition and weapons in Zamlka town.

Terrorists Abd al-Rahman al-Bunni, Samir al-Idlbi, Fawaz al-Ajal, Abad al-Rahman al-Afandi and Hussein al-Smadi were killed during army’s operations in Saqba town.

Army units also continued their operations against terrorist organizations in the southern part of Eastren Ghouta, killing many terrorists including Mwafak al-Laban, leader of a terrorist group, Moheedin al-Sawan, Mohamed Dabour and Jihad Daas on the road which connects between Jisrin village and al-Nashabia town to the north of Marj al-Sultan; SANA reported.
