Iraqi Air Force bombed a workshop near Kirkuk, destroying 100 explosive-laden vehicles the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants had set up for terrorist attacks, an Iraqi spokesman said.

Saad Maan, a spokesman for Iraq’s joint operations headquarters said on Sunday that the airstrike has razed the building used by the ISIL terrorists in al-Riyadh district, southwest of Kirkuk.
100 vehicles leaden with explosives and ready to be used for terrorist attacks were destroyed in the raid and a number of ISIL militants, including some foreign nationals, were killed, the spokesman was quoted by Alsumaria news as saying.
Iraq has been facing the growing threat of terrorism, mainly posed by the ISIL terrorist group.
The ISIL militants made swift advances in northern and western Iraq over the summer of 2014, after capturing swaths of northern Syria.
However, a combination of concentrated attacks by the Iraqi military and the volunteer forces, who rushed to take arms after top Iraqi cleric Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani issued a fatwa calling for fight against the militants, have blunted the edge of the ISIL offensive.
