Nuclear deal, global win-win game: Iran MP

349086_Iran-NuclearAn Iranian lawmaker has praised the recent nuclear agreement between Iran and the Sextet of powers as a breakthrough that benefits the international community.

“The agreement has fulfilled the interests of regional countries and marked a win-win game for the world,” said Abbasali Mansouri Arani, member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, in a Monday interview.

He argued that the achievement of the nuclear deal should be examined from economic, political and other points of view and noted, “Its most remarkable outcome was that the negative mentality about Iranians that the Western media presented to the world public opinion over the past years [began to crumble].”

The legislator also noted that on average the achievements of the nuclear deal have been positive for Iran.

Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – Russia, China, France, Britain and the US – plus Germany are scheduled to hold the next round of their nuclear talks in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on February 18.

The meeting will come in light of the implementation of an interim nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers which was clinched in the Swiss city of Geneva last November.

Under the deal, Iran agreed to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities as a confidence-building measure, and the world powers undertook to provide Iran with some sanctions relief and release more than USD four billion of Tehran’s oil revenues.
