Baku rejects Times report on using its soil for Iran strike

Azerbaijan has dismissed as “absurd and unfounded” a Sunday Times report claiming that Israeli regime is about to deploy drones on its soil for possible strike on Iran.

According to Press TV, Azeri Foreign Ministry spokesman, Elman Abdullayev, was quoted as saying on Tuesday: “Azerbaijan’s position has been voiced several times. Baku will never allow its territory be used against neighbors.”
He noted: “Azerbaijan maintains good neighborly relations with Iran and will never take such a step. This is our position.”
In its latest edition, the London-based Sunday Times speculated that the Zionist regime plans to use “giant, long-range Heron drones to launch stealthy pre-emptive strikes from Azerbaijan” on Iran’s ballistic missile sites.
In November, an official at Azerbaijan’s presidential office rejected similar media reports that Baku and Israeli regime have drawn a joint plan aimed at facilitating an Israeli regime attack on Iran.
