OIC includes assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists in final statement

Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hamidreza Dehqani said the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientists will be included in the final statement of the 12th OIC Summit.

He told IRNA here on Thursday that the issue, proposed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, forms an important part of the final statement.

According to the official, the statement also focuses on the Zionist regime’s attack on Syria, need for the NPT member states to pursue peaceful nuclear technology, and calamities of Myanmar Muslims among others.

Referring to developments in Egypt and the country’s historical and geopolitical position in the region, he said the visit of the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Egypt and improving ties between the two countries add to the importance of the meeting.

President Ahmadinejad arrived in Cairo on Tuesday at the official invitation of his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Mursi to attend the two-day OIC Summit.
