2 NATO tankers torched in NW Pakistan

Militants have destroyed two NATO oil tankers in Pakhtunkhwa province in Northwestern Pakistan, local officials say.

One driver was injured when unknown militants blasted the two oil NATO tankers in Amangarh town of Nowshera district on Tuesday, a Press TV correspondent in Peshawar reported.

According to the local officials, armed militants first opened fire at the two NATO oil tankers and later set them on fire.

The rescue teams reached the spot and started the rescue operation.

Security forces have cordoned off the area after the incident.

The tankers were on their way to Afghanistan for delivering fuel to US-led NATO forces in the war-torn country.

Militants have destroyed hundreds of NATO oil tankers and containers in different parts of Pakistan in the last four years.
