Pakistan and Iran Unite to Enhance Regional Progress: Prime Minister

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi conducted diplomatic talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the nation's President, Asif Ali Zardari, during a visit to Islamabad on Monday.

Sharif held discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his delegation on Monday in Islamabad, as announced in a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office.

He emphasized the enduring historical and fraternal ties between Pakistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, highlighting the significance of bolstering bilateral relations.

Present at the meeting were Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

Sharif expressed his condolences to the government and people of Iran following the devastating explosion at Shahid Rajaei Port. He also sent his warm regards to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The prime minister underscored Pakistan’s significant emphasis on its longstanding and brotherly ties with Iran. He affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to collaborating closely with Tehran to promote peace and stability in the region.

Abbas Araghchi delivered cordial messages from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and other prominent Iranian authorities to the Pakistani Prime Minister. He reiterated Iran’s dedication to enhancing bilateral ties with Pakistan and contributing to peace and stability in South Asia.

The Iranian Foreign Minister convened a meeting with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari during his visit to Islamabad.

During the day-long visit, Araghchi engaged in discussions with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, prior to meetings with the country’s prime minister and president.

In a statement issued by the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Araghchi and Dar emphasized the importance of maintaining close collaboration to foster mutual understanding.

According to reports, the parties involved discussed key regional and international developments and reiterated their mutual dedication to promoting peace and stability in the region.

The ministry reported that Araghchi expressed Iran’s strong interest in enhancing and deepening its relationship with Pakistan.
