Palestinian MPs organize Sit-in in solidarity with prisoner Sharawna

The Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) chairman, Dr. Aziz Dweik and Islamist MPs have participated in the weekly sit-in in solidarity with the hunger striker Ayman Sharawna outside the Red Cross headquarters in the city of Al-Khalil on Monday.

The MPs Mohammed Motlak, Dr. Hatem Qafisha, Mohammad Tal, and Samira Halaiqa have participated in the sit-in, in addition to a number of personalities and representatives of the prisoners and their families, and Ayman Sharawna’s family and the Palestinian Prisoner Association.

Dr. Aziz Dweik, the speaker of PLC stressed that the most important prisoners’ demand is to achieve total freedom and to have the human rights organizations’ absolute support.

He noted that the prisoners’ issue is one of the most important issues that needs all the efforts for their release.

Sharawna’s mother called on all institutions to stand behind the prisoners’ just demands and held the occupation full responsibility for her the life of her son who went on hunger strike for 70 days running.

The prisoner’s mother stressed that Egypt has to guarantee the terms of Wafa al-Ahrar deal are implemented and to protect the released prisoners under Egyptian mediation including her son.
