A Palestinian woman has sustained injuries in an incident during which a group of zionist Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles in occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem).

Zionist Israeli regime police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri said the extremist settlers pelted the Palestinian cars with stones near an ancient tomb in East al-Quds on Saturday evening.

She confirmed that a Palestinian woman was injured.

Scuffles broke out between young Palestinian men and the Israeli stone throwers afterwards. Israeli military forces intervened, arresting a young Palestinian man and two Israelis.

On May 18, Israeli human rights group Yesh Din condemned the Israeli police’s “indifference” to settlers’ attacks on Palestinians, saying nearly all assaults end without any indictments.

It said that assaults against Palestinians are not “isolated incidents,” and that “this brand of violence is part of a sophisticated, wider strategy designed to assert territorial domination over West Bank Palestinians.”

According to the rights group, Israeli forces in the West Bank frequently participate in or do not intervene in the violence against Palestinians.

More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank, including East al-Quds (Jerusalem), in 1967.

Settlers, mostly armed, almost regularly attack Palestinian villages and farms and set fire to their mosques, olive groves and other properties in the West Bank.
