The Syrian army continued its advances in the Damascus countryside and regained control over more strategic areas.
The army units took control of more areas in the town of al-Zabadani in Damascus countryside.

The Syrian army regained control of al-Abdallah Castle and al-Zawabiq hill in the surrounding areas of al-Zabadani town.

The units of the army killed tens of terrorists and injured dozens more in Damascus countryside.

The army units also established full control over al-Sindyan castle in al-Zabadani area in Damascus countryside after a series of intensive operations.

The army has been steadily advancing into al-Zabadani as it assumed control of all of the western mountains in the area al-Zabadani in March.

Meantime, an army unit killed tens of terrorists and injured dozens more near the town of Saasa in the southwestern countryside of Damascus.

Also in the past 24 hours, Syrian government forces continued their mop-up operations against the foreign-backed terrorists in the villages of Om Mayal, al-Inqawi and Skeik in the countryside of Hama province.

Elsewhere, the army killed scores of terrorists of al-Nusra Front and other affiliated terrorist groups in the city of Idlib and in its countryside.

Also, the army units killed and injured scores of terrorists in a number of areas in Daraa al-Balad and Ataman.

A military source said the operations resulted in killing scores of terrorists and destroying a large number of their vehicles.

Syria has been the scene of insurgency since 2011 when certain western powers and their regional allies voiced loudly that Syrian protests have no diplomatic solution and they started supplying the country’s opposition groups with their arms and funds.

Since 2014, specially after victory of President Bashar al-Assad in the country’s presidential election in summer, the army has gained upper hand in its anti-terrorism campaign, and has been partly successful in sealing borders with Turkey and Jordan.
