Palestinians not bound by unauthorized negotiations

Palestinian factions meeting in Gaza Tuesday agreed the people are not obliged to recognize the outcomes of unauthorized negotiations that compromised a shocking amount of Palestinian rights.

Al-Jazeera TV revealed a 1,600-document file detailing concessions Palestinian negotiators made on nearly all of Jerusalem, the Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinians’ right of return.

Factions invited by the Islamic Jihad Movement in Gaza concluded that Abbas and his party were not authorized to negotiate on behalf of the Palestinians, so agreements reached in the documents are not binding, Hamas’s Ayman Taha told the PIC.

The meeting involved parties that backed the 2006 document of national agreement and those who had reservations. All parties revoked power given to Abbas by the document, which they agreed should have been interpreted generally.

Discussions concluded the need for an end to frivilous peace talks with Israel and persecution of resistance forces, and reiterated emphasis on national reconciliation and resistance as the only answer for the restoration of Palestinian rights.

They said the PLO should be built as a national as a national reference in accordance with 2005 Cairo Declaration.

The meeting included the Islamic Jihad Movement, Hamas, the popular front general command, the freeman’s movement, the people’s party, the resistance committees, the people’s resistance movement and others.
