Palestinians rally in Gaza to condemn Israel threats

369800_Gaza-rallyPalestinian have held a huge protest rally in the besieged Gaza Strip to denounce war threats made by Israel against the Palestinians.

Reports said on Friday that the protesters took to the streets in the city of Khan Younis in southern parts of the Gaza Strip. The rally was organized by the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas.

“God willing, in any confrontation imposed on us by the enemy, everyone will find out that the confrontation will deal a heavy blow to the Zionist enemy. Our enemy will regret the moment it dared to attack Gaza and the Palestinian people,” senior Hamas official, Salah al-Bardawil said.
The protest also condemned Tel Aviv’s assaults on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank as Israel ratchets up its war rhetoric against the coastal sliver.

The demonstration came after Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on 15 areas of the northern part of Gaza, leaving at least 10 Palestinians injured on Thursday.

Palestinians fired over a dozen rockets from the blockaded enclave into Israel in retaliation for Tel Aviv’s deadly airstrikes.

Palestinian sources said on Thursday that Israel has given an ultimatum to Hamas to stop the firing of the rockets within 48 hours, threatening them with a large attack on Gaza.

Israel has stepped up air raids on the Gaza Strip as part of a military search operation for three Israeli settlers it said had disappeared on June 12.

Reports said on June 30 that the bodies of the Israeli teenagers were discovered in a field near the village of Hilhul, north of the city of al-Khalil (Hebron), in the West Bank.

Israel claims Hamas is responsible for the deaths, but the Palestinian resistance movement rejects the allegation.

Hamas military wing issued a stark warning to Israel on Thursday, saying any action against Palestinians would have grave consequences for the Tel Aviv regime.

“Idiotic measures by your leaders will be enough for us to turn your localities and sites…into embers,” Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement, adding that resistance is a right for the Palestinians to confront Israeli atrocities.
