Pezeshkian Asserts Iran’s Defense Capabilities at Peak Levels
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has asserted that the Islamic Republic does not aim to engage in war with any nation but remains resolute in its commitment to defend itself in the face of any aggression.

In a phone call on Thursday, Pezeshkian conveyed his congratulations to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in celebration of Eid al-Fitr, which signifies the conclusion of Ramadan.
In a recent phone conversation, Pezeshkian asserted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently refrained from seeking war or conflict, emphasizing the peaceful intentions behind the nation’s nuclear program.
Iranian official Pezeshkian emphasized that the nation’s security and defense strategies do not include non-peaceful applications of nuclear energy. This statement is corroborated by inspections conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency, which have confirmed the peaceful intent behind Iran’s nuclear activities.
The nuclear activities of the Islamic Republic of Iran can continue to be fully verified, as they have been in past years, the president stated.
Iran has demonstrated its willingness to engage in discussions aimed at reducing tensions surrounding its program, based on principles of mutual interest and respect.
He emphasized that while there is no desire to engage in conflict with any nation, there will be no hesitation in defending themselves. He further stated that their preparedness and capability in this respect is at the highest level.
In other parts of his address, Pezeshkian emphasized that solidarity among Muslim nations is essential to ensuring regional peace, security, and advancement. He asserted that such unity could also thwart crimes perpetrated against certain countries, notably Palestine.
A leader expressed confidence that through collaboration, Muslim nations have the potential to enhance both security and prosperity within the region.
Mohammed Bin Salman conveyed his congratulations to Pezeshkian on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. Additionally, he expressed his appreciation for efforts made by the president to foster unity among Muslim nations.
The Crown Prince expressed his aspiration for increased achievements in regional stability, security, and prosperity through continued cooperation.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed Saudi Arabia’s willingness to contribute to alleviating tensions and instability in the region.
This development follows as Trump warned over the weekend that military action against Iran could be on the table if Tehran declined to engage in talks aimed at crafting a new agreement regarding its nuclear program.
During his initial term, Trump exited a prior accord concerning Iran’s nuclear activities, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and initiated an intensified pressure strategy against the nation.
In January, after returning to the White House for a second term, Trump reinstated that policy.
On March 12, Trump dispatched a letter to Iran’s leadership, seeking negotiations to forge a new agreement and warning of potential military action should Tehran decline the proposal.
Iran has dismissed the possibility of engaging in direct negotiations with the United States under the current climate of pressure and threats. However, the country indicated that indirect talks remain a viable alternative.
